About us:

The Advanced Health Worker is a member of the Maternity Services Team and assists in the delivery of competent, quality care under the direction of the Clinical Midwife/ Nurse Unit Manager whilst assisting in the achievement of service goals in accordance with Queensland Health, Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and unit directions.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will….

• Deliver specific health care services as required depending on local community needs and service arrangements, and within the limits of own qualifications, experience and competency in Women's Health Management Programs.
• Maintain up- to-date knowledge of government and non-government community and accommodation services and effectively liaise with these agencies and services to assist patients and their families.
• Be self-directed and participate in activities such as in-service programs, monthly staff meetings, weekly case conference, individual/group supervision, quality programs, statistical collection/collation, audits, record keeping and report writing.
