Competition Administrator

About the role

This role is responsible for the smooth and organised execution of the competitions organised by Southern Touch. As a vital part of the Southern Touch team, you will combine operational, administrative, and customer service responsibilities in a dynamic, social environment. The successful applicant will be required to work two to three evenings per week during competition season. This is a permanent part-time role at 0.5 FTE (19 hours per week). Exact hours can be negotiated for the successful applicant in order to best support the competition.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and support match-day operations, ensuring games run smoothly and players, referees, and teams have what they need.

• Serve as a friendly first point of contact for members, responding to enquiries and providing excellent customer service.

• Assist with administrative duties, including scheduling, record-keeping, data entry and communication with teams and referees.

• Support clubroom operations, including bar and canteen service, stock management, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

• Work closely with the Manager to help deliver a seamless experience for all players, referees, and visitors.

About you

• Be 18+ years of age (due to bar licensing requirements).

• Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate or willingness to complete.

• Hold a valid Working with Vulnerable People registration or ability to obtain.

• Willingness to be flexible with working hours.

• An interest in the sports industry.

• Good interpersonal, verbal communication skills, and the ability to provide high-level customer service.

• Responsible, self-motivated, professional and able to work without direct supervision.

• Motivated to deliver the best for the sport.

• Ability to work with a broad group of stakeholders including ST members and volunteers.

• Demonstrated ability to utilise a variety of software packages, including competition management systems.
