Fire Alarm Technician

BFS Solutions are currently seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our growing team, working on a variety of commercial and industrial projects throughout Western Australia.

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the fire protection industry, with proven experience installing, programming, commissioning and maintaining fire detection and alarm systems. 

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Installation of Fire Detection and alarm systems on commercial and industrial projects.

• Programming, commissioning and testing of fire detection and emergency wanting systems.

• Installation, networking and programming of a variety of fire detection systems, including VESDA. 

• Fault finding, diagnosis and rectification of fire system faults.

• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and fire system layouts. 

• Liaising with the clients, project managers and other trades to ensure to projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.

• Completing commissioning documentation, test reports and project handover documentation.

• Working on existing fire protection systems within operational buildings. 

• Conducting routine maintenance of Fire Alarm systems and firefighting equipment as per Australian Standards.

Skills & Experience 

To be successful in this role you will possess: 

• Current Open Cabling licence registration and/or unrestricted  "A" Class electrical licence.

• Demonstrated experience installing fire detection and alarm systems (essential). 

• Proven experience programming fire alarm systems from leaking manufacturers such as Honeywell, Ampac.

• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards including AS1670.1, AS1851 and other relevant Fire protection installation standards

• Current White Card

• Current Australian Drivers Licence

• EWP and Working at heights tickets (preferred)

• Excellent Fault-Finding and troubleshooting skills. 

• Min 5 years' experience in the Fire Protection Industry 

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to working independently and as part of a team.
