About the role
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lawyer with 1-3 years' post-admission experience to join our Sydney Compulsory Third Party (CTP) team.
Working closely with a Specialist Accredited Partner and an experienced team of insurance lawyers, you will gain exposure to a broad range of defendant CTP matters, developing both your technical expertise and litigation skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
As part of one of Australia's leading insurance law practices, you will work with major insurer clients on a diverse portfolio of claims arising under the NSW CTP scheme. With ongoing legislative developments and no two matters being the same, this is an excellent opportunity to build your advocacy, negotiation and dispute resolution capabilities while working on interesting and complex matters.
You will enjoy a varied workload and be involved in:
Managing a portfolio of defendant CTP matters
Drafting legal advice and correspondence
Liaising with clients, claimant solicitors and other stakeholders
Preparing submissions and replies through the Personal Injury Commission (PIC)
Briefing and working with medical experts and Counsel
Attending conferences, mediations and court appearances
Assisting with dispute resolution strategies to achieve commercially sound outcomes for clients
About you
Whilst previous defendant CTP experience will be highly regarded, we are equally interested in Lawyers who have a genuine interest in personal injury and insurance litigation and are eager to develop their career within this specialised area of law.
You will be motivated, commercially minded and committed to delivering exceptional service to clients, while enjoying the opportunity to learn from highly regarded practitioners.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
1-3 years' post-admission experience, ideally in defendant insurance, personal injury or litigation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong drafting ability
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Sound judgment, initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving
A collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn from experienced mentors
A practical and commercially focused approach to achieving positive client outcomes
You'll benefit from direct access to experienced Partners and senior lawyers who are genuinely invested in mentoring and developing junior practitioners, providing a clear pathway for professional growth and progression within a nationally recognised CTP practice.
