Staff members are encouraged to contribute to a supportive, values-based culture that promotes learning, wellbeing, and community engagement.Role Description This full-time on-site role, based in Townsville, QLD, involves teaching secondary students and providing educational and residential leadership within the college community. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and providing feedback to support learning outcomes. The role also involves fostering a safe, respectful classroom and boarding environment, supervising students in residential settings, and supporting their wellbeing, study habits, and personal development. Teachers and residential leaders collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff, participate in co-curricular activities, and contribute to the Catholic ethos and mission of the college. Administrative tasks such as maintaining accurate records, attending staff meetings, and engaging in ongoing professional learning are also part of the position.Qualifications Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with the ability to deliver curriculum-aligned learning experiences for secondary students.Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Training to design structured, purposeful learning and development activities.Effective Communication skills, including the ability to interact respectfully with students, families, and colleagues.Relevant teaching qualification and registration (or eligibility for registration) with the appropriate Queensland education authority.Experience or interest in residential/boarding environments, including pastoral care and student supervision.Understanding of, or willingness to engage with, Catholic educational values and contribute positively to the college’s faith-based community.Ability to work collaboratively in teams, manage time and classroom responsibilities effectively, and maintain professional standards of conduct.Current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain) and adherence to child safeguarding and wellbeing requirements.
