About the roleThis role exists to deliver accurate, compliant payroll across multiple countries and entities. You will join a Melbourne-based Payroll team of four within Finance, responsible for payroll across Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada, supported by external providers.
Payroll sits at the intersection of people, compliance and trust. In this role, you will ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining strong controls, meeting legislative requirements and identifying opportunities to improve how payroll is delivered. The work is detailed, varied and highly visible across the business.
What you’ll doDeliver end-to-end payroll across multiple entities, including new starters, terminations, HR changes, leave transactions, reconciliations and payment processingSupport payroll across Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada in partnership with external payroll providersReconcile payroll outputs and investigate variances across timesheets, leave, superannuation, PAYG and related transactionsMeet compliance obligations including superannuation, PAYG withholding, Single Touch Payroll (STP), payroll tax and statutory reportingContribute to reporting, audits, compliance activities and ongoing process and control improvements
What will help you succeedMinimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll processing within a fast-paced corporate environmentPrevious experience with Sage People, MicrOpay and/or ADP payroll desirableIntermediate Excel skillsAbility to work in a team-based environmentAbility to accurately assess when escalation is requiredExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work with multiple stakeholdersStrong time management skills and ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlinesHigh attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to maintaining payroll accuracy and confidentiality
