Civil Lead/Senior Project Engineers 2:1 FIFO - Major Civil Resources Projects

We're looking for experienced Lead/Senior Project Civil Engineers to join our highly experienced civil engineering team here at Melchor. These roles will initially be based in our head office in Osborne Park, transitioning to a 2:1 roster during project execution

This is a permanent Full-Time opportunity where you'll work alongside some of the industry's most experienced civil construction professionals, playing a key role in delivering major resource-sector projects across Western Australia.

About the role

As a Lead/Senior Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of our civil construction projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Supervisors and site crews, you will coordinate daily site activities, provide technical engineering support, manage subcontractors, track project costs and progress, and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the successful and on time delivery of projects within budget and quality standards. 
• Establish regular reports on technical, systems and productivity performances for the Project Manager. 
• Engage in inspection and verification activities required by the Inspection and Test Plans. 
• Ensure completion of Quality Control Checklists. 
• Participate in team meetings. 
• Assist in managing communication between subcontractors and the project team. 
• Prepares project progress reporting – e.g. prepare monthly reports against plan, identifying variations and corrective action if required. 
• Prepare work packs - e.g. relevant project plans, project procedures, project instructions etc as directed by the Project Manager. 
• Coordinate and control engineering and technical activities on the project as directed by the Project Manager. 
• Order materials in accordance with scope and programme requirements. 
• Prepare construction programme, monitor progress, manning levels and cash flows. 
• Ensure all day work sheets are filled out and signed by the client. 
• Ensure all variations are documented and agreed upon before carrying them out. 
• Provide engineering, technical and contract support to construction staff. 
• Issue and maintain work packs to site supervisors with sufficient detail. 
• Comply with all HSE related tasks

What you'll bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering. 
• Minimum 5 years’ experience on civil or structural construction projects. 
• A working knowledge of FRP, earthworks, underground services on civil, mining or construction sites. 
• Committed to a FIFO roster during the construction phase of the project
• Good working knowledge of OSH Act and Regulations. 
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and employees on site.
• The ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Friendly and confident personality. 
• Ability to build strong internal and external relationships and work with multiple stakeholders.  
• Attention to detail coupled with resilience, confidence, versatility, flexibility, and empathy.
