About the role 

Provide active support to 4 males with disability living in a Supporting Independent Living home in St Kilda

The people you will be supporting love to have a lot of fun, keep a busy home and are looking for someone who can match their energy, be creative and provide active support to them. The successful candidate must have experience and confidence working with behaviour support plans.

You must be able to commit to the set permanent part-time roster below which includes sleepover shifts. Roster Split 51:00/57:30

Note, this is a set roster in line with the needs of the people being supported and so cannot be altered.

Key responsibilities: 

• Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
• Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
• Maintain thorough record keeping
• Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
• Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

• Cert IV in Disability
• Experience and confidence in working with behaviours of concern
• Creativity and passion for providing active support
• A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities.
• The ability to develop a positive relationship with clients and to support their Individual Personal Plan.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
• A current unrestricted Driver Licence and willingness to drive a company van.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and an International Criminal History Record Check; if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia in the last 10 years.
