Painter

Key Responsibilities:

• Applying paints, stains, and varnishes as per requirements.

• Prepare work areas by erecting scaffolding and ladders and placing drop sheets to protect surrounding surfaces from paint splatter.

• Remove old paint and wallpaper, repair woodwork, fill holes and cracks, and smooth and seal surfaces in preparation for painting.

• Mix and prepare paints to desired colours by combining pigments, oils, and appropriate thinning or drying agents.

• Apply paints, stains, and varnishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment for a smooth, professional finish.

• Hang wallpaper, align patterns, and neatly trim edges for a polished appearance.

• Clean tools, equipment, and work areas to maintain a tidy and safe work environment.

• Perform minor repairs, including replacing glass in timber or metal frames.

• Lay and repair floor and wall tiles as required.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience in painting or related trades

• Certificate III or IV in Painting and Decorating (preferred but not essential)

• Sound knowledge of painting tools, materials, and safety procedures

• Physically fit and able to work on ladders and scaffolds.

• Strong attention to detail and time management skills

• Reliable, punctual, and positive attitude
