The opportunityBennett is currently looking for a number of senior lawyers to join our growing team. Working in a unique and flexible environment that facilitates collaboration across our team of experienced legal practitioners, you will be responsible for the management of complex and varied employment, industrial relations and workplace health and safety matters.This is an ideal role for a lawyer with 5+ years’ PAE, you would work with our team to provide practical, strategic, and forward-looking advice to clients on the workplace issues that can arise at every stage of the employment relationship. Formulating practical and business-aligned solutions and representing clients before the Fair Work Commission, tribunals, and courts as required. You will have the opportunity to work on contentious high-stakes employment disputes and litigation in superior courts.
About youTo be successful in your application for this position you will:have a minimum of 5 years’ post admission experience working in a similar role within employment at a reputable firm or firms;have superior drafting skills for legal document preparation and a detailed understanding of the legal processes across all jurisdictions;have a demonstrated ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced environment with exceptional time management skills;have a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality;demonstrate sound commercial understanding and judgement;have excellent written and oral communication skills, including persuasive written advocacy skills;be confident in managing client relationships;be confident in supervising junior practitioners and administrative staff, and effectively manage a team; andbe an energised and collegiate team member who enjoys a challenge.
Applicants with experience in employment-related litigation or commercial litigation in superior and inferior courts will be viewed favourably.
