Axil Coffee Roasters has been at the forefront of Australia’s specialty coffee scene since 2011. From our original roastery in Hawthorn, we’ve expanded to some of Melbourne’s most iconic locations, and home to the 2025 Australia and & World Barista Champion.

What We’re Looking For

We need an experienced leaders with a customer first focus that wants to go above and beyond to create great experiences for our guests.

You Should Have:

• Hands-on experience running a high-volume specialty coffee venue
• A deep understanding of coffee extraction, workflow, and dialing in
• Comfort working with high-end gear like:
• La Marzocco PB ABR
• Mazzer Robur S
• Mahlkonig E65S GBW & EK43S
• Ubermilk
• Experience with training and developing baristas, from puck prep to palate development
• Strong leadership skills and a commitment to service excellence
• A willingness to lead by example on bar, on floor, and in the team dynamic

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading a café team obsessed with quality and consistency
• Managing daily operations, from service flow to inventory
• Training staff in Axil’s standards of coffee and hospitality
• Ensuring every shot pulled and every plate served reflects our brand
• Collaborating with our roasting and training teams to keep pushing the envelope
• Building and maintaining a positive, specialty-focused café culture
