The job

We’re opening a new Slide café in Noosa.

We’ve been slowly growing over the past few years, and this feels like the right time for our next shop. We’re excited to bring what we do to the Noosa community, and we’re looking for someone to lead it.

This isn’t walking into a café that’s already established.

You’ll be there from the beginning.

Hiring the team. Getting the café running. Working through the little problems that always come with opening a new place. Meeting the locals. Helping create somewhere people genuinely enjoy visiting.

It’s a hands-on management role. Some days you’ll spend most of the morning on the machine. Other days you’ll be writing a roster, receiving an order, interviewing someone new or figuring out why something isn’t working the way it should.

If you enjoy building things, you’ll probably enjoy this job.

A bit about us

We’re a coffee roastery first, so coffee is the focus. Our food offering is intentionally simple, with no on-site kitchen or food preparation.

We roast coffee and supply cafés and homes across the Sunshine Coast and throughout Australia. We also operate three venues along the coast.

We’re interested in helping people enjoy better coffee, whether that’s in one of our cafés or at home. We like introducing people to different producers, different origins and different ways of brewing coffee without making it feel complicated.

Good hospitality matters just as much to us. We want people to feel welcome, looked after and glad they stopped in.

Being based on the Sunshine Coast also reminds us not to take this place for granted. We try to make sensible decisions that reduce waste and look after the environment where we can. It’s not something we make a fuss about—it’s just part of how we think.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Noosa café.

That includes:

• Leading the team during service.
• Recruiting, training and supporting staff.
• Building rosters and managing wages.
• Ordering stock and keeping on top of inventory.
• Working with suppliers.
• Banking and daily administration.
• Keeping standards high across coffee, presentation and service.
• Getting to know your regulars and becoming part of the local community.

You’ll probably be someone who…

• Has managed a cafe before.
• Enjoys leading people.
• Makes consistently good coffee.
• Is organised and comfortable with the business side of running a café.
• Doesn’t mind jumping in wherever you’re needed.
• Likes the idea of building something from the beginning.
