About the role

As a Lead Educator, you will be responsible for taking ownership of and leading a room, including the day-to-day organisation and operation of the environment. You will lead, mentor, and support a team of educators to work collaboratively and effectively, develop and implement engaging educational programs in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and maintain high-quality programming, planning, observations, assessments, and documentation. You will build strong, respectful, and professional relationships with children, families, educators, and the wider community, ensure the room operates in accordance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Regulations, and National Quality Standards (NQS), and promote the highest standards of child safety, wellbeing, learning, and development.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of and lead a room, including the day-to-day organisation and operation of the environment
• Lead, mentor, and support a team of educators to work collaboratively and effectively
• Develop, implement, and evaluate engaging educational programs in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
• Maintain high-quality programming, planning, observations, assessments, and documentation
• Build strong, respectful, and professional relationships with children, families, educators, and the wider community
• Ensure the room operates in accordance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Regulations, National Quality Standards (NQS), and service policies
• Promote and maintain the highest standards of child safety, wellbeing, learning, and development
• Contribute to a positive, professional, collaborative, and inclusive workplace culture

About you

• An approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification or Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care
• Previous experience working as a Lead Educator, Room Leader, or in a similar room leadership position
• Proven ability to confidently lead, mentor, and support a team of educators
• Demonstrated experience in educational programming, planning, observations, assessments, and documentation
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
• Strong understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Regulations
• Excellent leadership, communication, organisation, and team management skills
• Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certification
• Current Child Protection training and Child Safe Foundations training

Pay: $28.59 – $53.00 per hour
