Onset Design Pty Ltd Employer: Onset Design Pty Ltd Industry: Software Development Employment Type: Full-time Location: Melbourne Salary: $77,000–$80,000 AUD per annum plus superannuation About the Role We're looking for a Frontend Developer to join our software development team, working primarily with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript to build the interfaces our customers use every day.

You'll be embedded in a team shipping real, production features from day one, with exposure to our broader stack including . NET backend services and REST APIs. Success in this role looks like: shipping clean, tested, accessible UI components, asking good questions, and steadily taking on more ownership over your first year.

What You'll Do Research, consult on, analyse and evaluate system and program needs with designers, backend engineers and stakeholders before turning requirements into working React interfaces Identify technology limitations and deficiencies in existing frontend systems, components and associated processes, and propose improvements Test, debug, diagnose and correct errors and faults in our frontend applications within established testing protocols, guidelines and quality standards, ensuring components meet functional and technical security requirements Write and maintain clean, componentized frontend program code to meet system requirements, designs and technical specifications, in accordance with our quality-accredited coding standards Write, update and maintain technical documentation (including component and API documentation) and end-user/operational procedures for frontend features Provide input and guidance on proposals and technical strategies for frontend design activities, including evaluating and recommending frontend tools, libraries and upgrades Manage and contribute to testing and automation of frontend software and application deployments (e.g. Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, CI/CD pipelines) Collect and analyse operational and performance metrics for frontend applications Contribute to continuous improvement and continuous delivery strategies across frontend design and development Help create and develop internal tools that support frontend software management and security Assist in identifying anomalies, vulnerabilities or threats in frontend code and consuming APIs, and support mitigation of risks affecting performance and security throughout the product lifecycle Consume and integrate REST APIs, handling state, data fetching and edge cases properly

Take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback What We're Looking

For A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) Solid foundations in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3 Some hands-on experience with React, whether through study, internships, personal projects, or open source Basic understanding of REST APIs and how frontend applications consume them Exposure to or willingness to learn C# and . NET, since our backend runs on .

NET Core Familiarity with Agile ways of working Strong problem-solving skills and genuine curiosity about how things work Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders A proactive, self-driven attitude toward learning and picking up new tools Nice to Have Experience with
