About the role You’ll work with apprentices and electrical students, helping them build the practical skills, knowledge and confidence they need to succeed in the trade.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering practical and classroom-based electrical training
• Assessing competency and providing constructive feedback
• Supporting apprentices throughout their training
• Maintaining industry relevance within training programs
• Helping students develop safe work practices, technical capability and professional standards

If you’re new to teaching, you’ll be supported with mentoring, teaching resources and professional development to help you transition into the role.
About you This role would suit someone who takes pride in their trade and enjoys helping others learn and develop.
Ideally, you’ll have:

• Current or recent experience in the electrical industry
• Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
• A current electrical licence
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent), or a willingness to obtain it
• Strong communication skills
• A genuine interest in developing apprentices and future electricians

Teaching experience is certainly valued, but it isn’t essential. Many excellent electrical teachers come from industry and bring with them the practical knowledge that apprentices really respect.
