The studio challenges conventional thinking to create architecture that performs, inspires, and stands the test of time.Role Description The Architect/Team Leader is a full-time, on-site role based in Southbank, VIC. This position leads project design from concept to delivery, coordinating architectural documentation, design development, and technical detailing across a range of project types. The Architect/Team Leader will manage and mentor a small team, oversee workload planning, and ensure design quality and compliance with relevant codes, standards, and planning regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with clients and consultants, preparing drawings and presentations, attending design and coordination meetings, and supporting contract administration during construction. The role requires proactive leadership in problem-solving, maintaining project timelines and budgets, and contributing to the studio’s culture of human-centred, future-driven design.Qualifications Professional architectural qualifications and registration (or eligibility for registration) in Australia, with experience delivering projects from concept through construction.Demonstrated skills in architectural design, space planning, and human-centred design for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.Proficiency in industry-standard design and documentation tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, BIM platforms, Adobe Creative Suite) and strong technical detailing capabilities.Experience leading project teams, coordinating consultants, and managing workflows, deadlines, and resources in a studio environment.Solid understanding of Australian building codes, planning regulations, and construction processes, including familiarity with value-driven and efficient design solutions.Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.Experience with contract administration, site inspections, and resolving design and construction issues during project delivery.Commitment to design excellence, sustainability, and continuous professional development; previous experience in urban design or masterplanning is advantageous.
