About the role
Cardinia Shire Council is looking for community members to join the Multicultural Advisory Group (MAG). This group plays an important role in supporting Council to strengthen multiculturalism, celebrate diversity, and foster inclusion across the community.
The Purpose Of The MAG Is To
Provide feedback on Council policies and decisions.Find the best ways to communicate with multicultural communities.Help the Council create a welcoming and inclusive culture.Build and improve partnerships to support multicultural communities.Ensure diverse views are included in feedback to the Council.Work together, strengthen partnerships, and share information on issues affecting new multicultural residents.
Your role as a MAG member
Share information and provide feedback through engagement activities to ensure diverse community voices are reflected in Council decision-making.Help find the best ways to communicate with and involve the Shire’s multicultural communities.Support the Council in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.Encourage a group culture that explores and values different perspectives,Work together, build community partnerships, and share information on issues affecting new multicultural residents in the Shire.
Members will be appointed to the volunteer role for a two-year term, with a review after the first year.
You will be required to attend meetings every two months on the 3rd Thursday of February, April, June, August, October, and December from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.

To Be Considered, You Must
Live in Cardinia Shire and have an ethnic or multicultural background.Represent community groups or organizations that serve multicultural communities in Cardinia Shire.Commit to attending regular meetings and participating in discussions.
