Senior Front Office Coordinator

We are looking for a friendly, mature, people person to be the face of our practice and provide exceptional care and service to our patients.

Deakin Dental Care is privately owned general dental practice providing all facets of general dentistry, including surgical procedures, implants and treatment under General Anaesthetic and IV sedation. The practice is small but busy and we are looking for someone to help take on the running of our reception on a full time basis.

About You:

• Ideally, 5+ years of experience in a dental, medical or customer service field - we are happy to train the right person, so although dental or medical experience is preferred, if you are customer service focused and willing to learn, we would still love to hear from you
• Reliable - reception is the hub of the practice and we need someone who is here to help manage the day to day running of the practice
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and confident to deliver messages and ask questions of clinicians concisely and accurately
• Patient centric - patients are why we do what we do, being able to treat patients as a priority and go above and beyond expectations to create a friendly, welcoming environment is a must
• Be proactive - although you will have support from an experienced practice manager and principal dentist, being able to look and plan ahead and take on things yourself is required
• Organised, meticulous on details and ability to follow tasks through
• Be willing to hit the ground running - we are a busy practice and we are willing to train the right candidate, you do need to be prepared to be busy and thrive in a busy reception environment
• Be well presented - we don't have a uniform as such but we do expect our reception staff to be clean, tidy and present themselves in a professional manner at all times
• Be willing to learn and be a team player - the role is predominately reception but being able to help across other areas of the practice (sterilisation, cleaning etc) will be beneficial
• Take direction and work closely and collaboratively with our practice manager and principal dentist who are on site full-time
• Be willing to cover for practice manager and take on more of a leadership/assistant manager role overtime

About the role:

• Ideally, full-time Monday-Friday 8-5pm with the occasional Saturday morning - we are open to negotiating days/hours with the right person but we would prefer someone who is happy and available to work full time hours
• Pay rate is negotiable depending on experience but would be between $28-$38 an hour with regular performance reviews and the opportunity for pay increases every 12-months
• We are a friendly, welcoming, small team. It is important to us that we find someone who is able to work well with the entire team, reception is such an integral part of our practice and we are after someone who makes the effort to work with and support the entire team from the dentists to dental assistants
