About the team:

Mathisha (Tish) Panagoda is a partner in the insurance team and works within Colin Biggers & Paisley's national Institutional Risk and Liability group. His practice is focussed on child safety, general liability and special issues managing civil and National Redress Scheme claims of historical child abuse and working with organisations to ensure robust child protection policies and procedures, manage investigations and provide strategic advice on a range of sensitive issues.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate or Senior Associate to join a supportive and high performing team. The role will require:

Providing clients with legal adviceRegularly reviewing applicable case law and legislative changesConducting effective legal research and analysis to produce timely, commercial and legally accurate adviceManaging a robust workload, including prioritising work and delivering services effectivelyDeveloping an understanding of client operations and strategyManaging prospective client relationshipsWorking collaboratively within a teamContinual professional development and managing MCLE requirementsThe role can be based in our Sydney or Melbourne office, and you will work across both jurisdictions Not just working on claims, but also being involved with front end policy work

About you:

4+ years' PQEA desire to be an integral member of a strong and cohesive team who work collaborativelyAbility to manage large volumes of documentsStrong attention to detailPractical and client focused problem solving and research skillsPrevious exposure to business development and a natural ability to build strong client relationshipsAbility to manage client expectations and work within timeframesInterested in establishing a long-term successful career with Colin Biggers & PaisleyAbility to relate to people at all levels and effectively work in a teamA strong focus on turnaround timeCommercial acumenPractical and client focused problem-solving skillsA strong, plain language communication stylea working knowledge of running NSW and VIC based claims
