Student / Graduate Planner

Willowtree Planning is looking to expand their team of Town Planners within one of Australia's leading Town Planning Consultancies. With offices in Sydney and Brisbane, we are currently seeking to appoint an “A Grade” (passionate, self-motivated, autonomous, confident and highly skilled) Student Planner for an immediate start to assist with a busy project workbook.

The Student Planner will report to the Planning Associates & Directors and assist in the preparation of statutory and strategic planning applications to various local and state government authorities across Australia.  

To be considered for this opportunity you must have the following: 

• Studying or completed town planning (or equivalent) degree; 

• Proven success in your studies; 

• Sound understanding of current Planning legislation; 

• Professional attitude, friendly personality and strong desire to learn; 

• Excellent time management skills; and 

• High attention to detail and proven ability to produce quality reports and submissions. 

Tasks will include but not limited to: 

• Preparation of Regulatory Authority Development Application Forms; 

• Research and review of Environmental Planning Instruments and Council Policies; 

• Lodgement of Development Applications with Council; 

• Client and Council liaison; 

• Preparation of DA packages and Statement of Environmental Effects and other reports as directed by the Planning Manager; and 

• Provide assistance as directed to the Planning team. 

The successful candidate will be completing their second-year studies and may then continue in a full-time capacity in the Practice Year itself.
