Heidelberg Materials Australia is one of the country’s leading suppliers of heavy building materials to the construction industry. We produce aggregates, including crushed rock, sand, gravel, and road base from a number of locations across Australia.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Quarry Operator to join the team at our Wollert Quarry, a 1-hour drive north of the Melbourne CBD.

This is a full-time position with overtime and weekend work according to business needs.
 

In your new role with us, you will:

• Carry out day to day operation and maintenance of various vehicles, plant, and equipment

• Operate a heavy vehicle (excavator/front end loader/dump truck).

• Perform general labour activities including cleaning, hosing and shoveling
   

This role is a great fit for you if you have:

• Solid interpersonal and communication skills

• Total commitment to risk management and OH&S

• A positive work ethic and ability to work within Heidelberg Materials’ values and philosophies

• Experience on CAT 990/992 advantageous

• Articulated dump truck, rigid haul truck experience preferred

• Rock breaker experience favourable

• Tickets for heavy machinery not required, but experience is essential

• Experience in either Quarrying or Mining

• The ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
   

What we offer:

• Hourly base rate from $34.53, pending experience, plus penalty rates, plus super

• Monday to Friday – average hours 6:00am – 2:00pm

• Rostered half day Saturday shifts, working every second, depending on workload and production requirements.
