About the role

Kilmore Bakery is seeking enthusiastic and skilled or love to be Baker Assistants/Pastry Cooks/Pie Makers to join our team on a casual basis to full time. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic bakery environment where you will contribute to creating high-quality baked goods and pastry items. Based in Kilmore VIC 3764, you will be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional products to our customers. The casual nature of this role offers flexibility whilst allowing you to gain valuable experience in the baking and pastry industry.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and baking a variety of bread, pastries, and baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards

• Assisting in the production of pies, including filling, sealing, and baking to specification

• Operating and maintaining bakery equipment

• Monitoring oven temperatures and baking times to ensure optimal results

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a baker assistant, pastry cook, or pie maker, or relevant training in baking and pastry arts

• Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient properties, and pastry production methods

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment

• Excellent food safety and hygiene awareness and practices

• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks

• Team player mentality with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues

• Reliability and punctuality

• A genuine passion for baking and pastry making

• Basic numeracy skills for following recipes and measurements
