About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Casual Baker / Pastry & Prep Person to join the Little Pita Co team in Adelaide SA 5000. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst contributing to the production of high-quality baked goods and pastries. You will play a vital role in our bakery operations, supporting our commitment to delivering fresh, delicious products to our customers daily. This casual role allows you to be part of a dynamic team whilst maintaining flexibility around your schedule.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and measuring ingredients for burek items in accordance with recipes and food safety standards

• Operating bakery equipment including ovens, mixers and other machinery safely and effectively

• Baking pita breads, pastries and other items following established recipes and quality standards

• Shaping, proofing and finishing baked goods to maintain consistent quality and presentation

• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the bakery and prep areas

• Supporting the production schedule to ensure timely delivery of fresh products

• Assisting with stock rotation and inventory management

• Following food safety protocols and health regulations at all times

What we're looking for

• Experience as a baker or pastry chef, or equivalent hands-on bakery experience

• Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient preparation and dough handling

• Familiarity with bakery equipment and machinery

• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices

• Ability to work evenings and

• Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks and lift items regularly

• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products

• Reliability and a positive attitude towards teamwork

• Relevant certifications such as food handling or food safety qualifications are advantageous

Casual position Monday to Friday

Approximately 3 evening prep shifts

Approximately 2 to 3 daytime production shifts

No Saturday or Sunday work

$35 to $39 per hour casual, depending on experience

Ongoing regular hours available for the right person
