Tile Installer/waterproofer

The Applicant should have a minimum 3 years experience and good communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpreting plans, conducting accurate measurements, and marking surfaces prior to installation.
• Preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing existing tiles, grout, and adhesive, repairing cracks and holes, and ensuring surfaces are clean and level.
• Applying adhesive to prepared surfaces and tiles, and positioning tiles correctly in line with project specifications.
• Using specialised tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles for edges, corners, and to accommodate fixtures, fittings, and pipework.
• Ensuring all tiles are accurately aligned, evenly spaced, and aesthetically consistent.
• Grouting joints, cleaning surfaces, and removing excess grout to achieve a professional finish.
• Applying suitable waterproofing systems in compliance with building standards.
• Installing floors using granolithic, terrazzo, cement, and similar materials where required.
• Creating decorative or patterned finishes, including mosaic designs, using coloured tiles.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

Relevant trade qualification in Wall and Floor Tiling (e.g., Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling or equivalent).

Proven experience in wall and floor tiling, including residential and/or commercial projects.

Ability to interpret drawings, plans, and specifications accurately.

Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques, adhesives, grout types, waterproofing systems, and tiling materials.

Competency in operating tile-cutting equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently.

High attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality finishes, including precise alignment and spacing.

Understanding of workplace health and safety standards, and ability to comply with safe work practices.

Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform physically demanding tasks.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project timelines.

Good communication and problem-solving skills to address installation challenges on-site.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
