Junior Estimator - Commercial Construction

KeyBuild Services is a commercial construction subcontractor based in Loganholme, delivering commercial construction, site establish works, modular building installation, hoardings, metalwork, general carpentry, concrete works & more for Tier 1 builders across South East Queensland. We're a tight, professional team that backs our people, invests in training, and promotes from within.

We're looking for a Junior Estimator to join our Estimating & Pre-Contracts team. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you'll support the full tendering process — from take-offs and pricing through to bid submission and post-tender follow-up. It's a genuine entry point into commercial estimating, with structured mentoring and a clear path toward Estimator and beyond.

This suits someone early in their estimating journey, looking to grow and develop their skills in multi-trade commercial construction estimating.

• Preparing accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and documentation

• Building cost estimates using schedules of rates and supplier pricing

• Issuing RFQs and engaging with suppliers and subcontractors

• Reviewing pricing, lead times and logistics to support reliable tenders

• Assisting with tender submissions, pricing schedules and returnable documents

• Contributing to clarifications, exclusions and risk assessments

• Maintaining document control and supporting on-time submissions

• Assisting with post-tender handovers and project setup

• Working directly with the Estimating Manager, who'll guide you on more complex and custom pricing

• A keen eye for detail and a methodical, organised approach

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings

• Confident written, verbal and phone communication — you'll liaise with suppliers regularly

• Good Microsoft Office 365 skills (KeyBuild Services uses the full office suite)

• Certificate/Diploma (or progress toward) in Building & Construction, Estimating, Quantity Surveying or related — or equivalent hands-on construction experience

• 0–2 years in estimating, tendering or contract administration (Some prior experience will be highly regarded)

• Any exposure to Cubit, Bluebeam, ACONEX, Procore or similar is a bonus — training provided
