Alice Street Dental is a well-established, community-focused dental practice located in Atherton in the beautiful Tablelands region of Far North Queensland.

We pride ourselves on providing high-quality dental care in a friendly and welcoming environment. Our practice has a large and supportive clinical team providing a broad range of general and advanced dental treatments.

We are looking for a qualified, experienced and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis.

The Role

Working closely with our dentists and other members of the clinical team, you will assist with the delivery of high-quality dental care and help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our surgeries.

This is a hands-on clinical role suited to someone who enjoys working as part of a busy, supportive dental team.

Key Responsibilities

• Chairside assisting dentists during examinations and dental procedures

• Preparing treatment rooms, instruments, materials and equipment for procedures

• Cleaning, sterilising and maintaining dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection-control requirements

• Maintaining appropriate infection prevention and control procedures

• Assisting with dental radiography and clinical procedures where appropriately trained and permitted

• Supporting patients before, during and following dental treatment

• Maintaining accurate clinical and patient records

• Maintaining stock levels and preparing clinical supplies

• Cleaning and maintaining dental surgeries and clinical areas

• Assisting the dental team with the efficient flow of patients throughout the practice

• Working collaboratively with dentists, dental assistants, oral health professionals and administrative staff

Requirements

The successful applicant will:

• Have previous experience working as a Dental Assistant

• Have sound knowledge of dental infection control and sterilisation procedures

• Have experience providing chairside assistance during dental procedures

• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Be reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team

• Demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care

• Hold a relevant Dental Assisting qualification, including a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Dental Assisting, or an equivalent relevant qualification
