About the Role
The Senior Procurement Adviser, Shared Services will provide expert procurement advice while overseeing procurement governance, policies, processes and compliance. The role will support the corporate procurement shared service by managing procurement systems, processes and documentation, while identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen procurement practices, standards and efficiency across the organisation.
Key Accountabilities
Maintain procurement policies, systems, templates and guidance, ensuring procurement documentation complies with legislation and government requirements.
Provide high-quality advice on best-practice procurement and contract management, helping the organisation achieve efficiencies, savings and value for money.
Build strong relationships with business areas and client departments, influence procurement outcomes and support teams to build procurement capability and financial awareness.
Manage procurement systems and analyse financial and procurement data to monitor activity, spend, commitments, variances, purchase orders and overall performance.
Manage procurement assurance and approvals processes, including the purchasing system gateway, and prepare high-quality reports, briefs and correspondence for senior executives and Ministers.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following attributes:
Relevant experience in government procurement and an understanding of the procurement policy environment is highly desirable.
Experience of working with financial software and procurement systems and tools.
Tertiary qualifications in procurement, commerce, law or related disciplines is highly desirable.
Uses strategic and systems thinking to understand complex organisational issues, identify opportunities, solve problems and deliver commercially sound, practical outcomes.
Builds strong, inclusive relationships, influences diverse stakeholders and develops team capability to achieve shared outcomes and deliver high-quality customer-focused services.
