Food & Beverage Attendant

About the role

The Centennial Hotel is seeking a Food & Beverage Attendant to join our hospitality team in Gulgong, NSW. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst delivering exceptional service to our guests. As a Food & Beverage Attendant, you will be the friendly face of our establishment, responsible for creating memorable experiences through attentive service, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for hospitality. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards our guests expect and contributes directly to the success and reputation of the hotel.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting guests with a warm welcome and seating them promptly in the bar or dining areas

• Taking food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, making recommendations where appropriate

• Serving food and drinks to guests in a professional and courteous manner

• Clearing tables promptly and maintaining a clean, organised dining and bar environment

• Processing payments and handling transactions with accuracy and integrity

• Restocking bar and dining areas with necessary supplies, glassware, cutlery and crockery

• Maintaining knowledge of menu items, specials and beverage offerings to assist guests

• Responding to guest inquiries and requests with professionalism and a positive attitude

• Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times

• Supporting team members to ensure smooth service operations during busy periods

What we're looking for

• Prior experience in a hospitality, bar or restaurant environment is advantageous but not essential for enthusiastic candidates

• Excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in providing outstanding customer service

• The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, particularly during peak service times

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

• A positive, professional attitude and willingness to learn

• Flexibility and reliability, with availability to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends

• Knowledge of responsible service of alcohol or willingness to obtain training

• Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions and till operations
