Protectcorp is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function across our national operations.

This is a hands-on role covering invoicing, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations and reporting, with strong hands-on use of Xero across the full finance function.

You'll work closely with the Leadership team and wider business, with a high level of autonomy and responsibility. The role also includes some basic, ad hoc executive administration support for the CEO and COO, including coordinating meetings, preparing documents, arranging appointments or travel and following up actions when required.

Finance is the primary focus of the role.

The role will initially be office-based for training and onboarding. Upon successful completion of the initial training and onboarding period, hybrid working may be available, subject to satisfactory performance and demonstrated capability in managing the responsibilities of the role independently and confidentially.

• Managing the day-to-day finance function using Xero

• National invoicing, billing and follow-up

• Payroll processing, including timesheets, allowances and deductions

• Accounts receivable, debtor management and collections

• Accounts payable, supplier invoices and payment runs

• Bank, ledger and account reconciliations

• Monthly reporting and month-end support

• Petty cash and branch reimbursements

• Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit requirements

• Working with Operations and Business Improvement to resolve discrepancies and improve processes

We're looking for an experienced finance professional who is confident working independently, takes ownership and enjoys being part of a busy, hands-on environment.

You'll ideally have:

• 3–5 years' experience in finance, accounting or payroll

• Strong hands-on Xero experience across the full finance function, including invoicing, AP, AR and reconciliations

• Solid payroll processing experience

• An understanding of PAYG, superannuation and leave

• Strong reconciliation and month-end skills

• Good Excel capability

• Excellent attention to detail

• A practical, organised approach to managing deadlines

• The confidence to work independently and take ownership

• Discretion when dealing with confidential financial information
