Senior Digital Archivist

There is currently one fixed term, full-time vacancy for immediate filling, up to 30/06/2027, with possibility of extension and/or permanency.

The Senior Digital Archivist assists with supporting the implementation of the State Library’s Digital Preservation Framework. The position provides technical and operational support and training to Library staff in the acquisition, description, ingestion, preservation and access of the State Library’s digital heritage and legal deposit collections.

The position assists with collections-related digital transformation initiatives to develop digital preservation capabilities across the organisation.

• A current CV with two work related referees (with one referee who is a current line manager).
• A cover letter (to a maximum two (2) pages), outlining your experience, knowledge and skills addressing the Essential Work-Related Requirements listed below, as stated in the attached Job Description Form:
• Experience and confidence using current and legacy hardware and software (Macintosh, DOS, Windows, and Linux), and an ability to troubleshoot technical problems. (1)
• Demonstrated ability to research and resolve technical issues relating to software and hardware tools. (2)

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants found suitable for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the State Library of WA which arise within 12 months of the recruitment process being endorsed. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered to fill fixed term, permanent, part-time or full-time or casual roles.
