• Paying between $80.74 - $85.54ph + super
• Perth CBD location
• Temp contract position for 6 months with possible extensions

Candidates for this role must have:

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering services under the Freedom of Information Act 1992 and understanding of the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 principles

• Significant experience in information and records management, including the effective use of document management systems

• Proven ability to lead, develop, and guide a team of four employees

• Previous local government experience (Desirable)

Key responsibilities will include:

• Information Access (Freedom of Information) Coordinate FOI services in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 1992, including planning, search coordination, stakeholder consultation, and preparation of Notices of Decision while providing specialist advice to business areas.
• Information Privacy & Data Breach Management Coordinate services under the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024, assist with Privacy Impact Assessments and Information Sharing Agreements, and help manage information and data breach responses.
• Team Leadership & Governance Provide interim leadership, oversight, and guidance to a team of four employees while maintaining contemporary policies, procedures, and governance frameworks in line with legislative requirements.
• Education & Capability Develop and deliver training and awareness initiatives to build organisational understanding of FOI and Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing (PRIS) obligations for Executive, staff, and elected members.
• Continuous Improvement & Advisory Support research and advice on information security risks, controls, and compliance obligations in collaboration with ICT, Legal, and Risk stakeholders to continuously enhance information management practices.
• Compliance & Safety Maintain compliant work practices in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks, ensuring safe work practices in line with Work Health and Safety requirements.
