We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join Avant Law in a permanent, full-time capacity based in Sydney.

This is a varied and rewarding role providing integrated legal and practice support to Avant Law. You’ll combine strong paralegal capability with high-level administrative and personal support, adapting to the needs and priorities of the team.

With broad scope and the opportunity to work with autonomy, you’ll play an important role in proactively managing workflows, anticipating team needs and supporting the effective progression of legal matters and the broader practice.

This role would suit someone who is highly organised, commercially minded and confident working in a fast-paced legal environment, who enjoys taking ownership and making things happen.

You’ll bring demonstrated experience in a paralegal, legal support or administrative role within a legal environment, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

You will have:

• Demonstrated experience in a paralegal, legal support or administrative role within a legal environment
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong drafting and document management capabilities, with excellent attention to detail
• Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Confidence engaging with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
• Strong financial and administrative skills, including experience with billing and expense management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice management systems
• A proactive approach, with the judgement and confidence to work autonomously
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and the ability to quickly learn new systems, processes and ways of working

It would be advantageous if you also have:

• Previous paralegal experience within a law firm environment
• Knowledge or experience in professional conduct and disciplinary processes
• Knowledge or experience in civil litigation, ideally within the medical negligence space
