About the role

We are seeking an Internal Sales Representative to join our dynamic sales team at our Dandenong South, VIC location. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our external sales efforts and driving revenue growth. You will be the backbone of our sales operation, managing customer enquiries, processing orders and providing outstanding support to both our sales team and clients. This role is essential to ensuring seamless customer experiences and maintaining LINEAR TECHNIK's reputation for exceptional service in the industrial engineering sector.

Key responsibilities

• Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all documentation is complete and specifications are correctly captured

• Responding to customer enquiries via phone, email and other communication channels in a timely and professional manner

• Providing technical product information and guidance to customers to support their purchasing decisions

• Liaising with warehouse, logistics and delivery teams to coordinate order fulfilment and manage customer expectations regarding timelines

• Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions, orders and follow-ups within company systems

• Supporting the external sales team by preparing quotations, managing customer databases and providing administrative support

• Identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products based on customer needs

• Resolving customer issues and complaints professionally, escalating complex matters when necessary

• Building and maintaining positive relationships with key customers to foster loyalty and repeat business

• Keeping up to date with product knowledge and industry developments to provide informed assistance

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in an internal sales, customer service or sales support role, preferably within the engineering or industrial sector

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues at all levels

• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Proficiency in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• A solid understanding of sales processes and the ability to support sales team objectives

• Customer-focused mindset with a genuine desire to provide exceptional service

• Accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when processing orders and managing customer information

• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving customer issues

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Knowledge of industrial engineering products or manufacturing environments is advantageous

• Experience with technical specifications and ability to understand engineering documentation is preferred
