Merchandise & Inventory Planner

We're seeking an experienced Merchandise & Inventory Planner to take ownership of our inventory planning, purchasing and stock management. This is a highly influential role that sits at the heart of the business, ensuring we have the right products, in the right place, at the right time.

Reporting to the leadership team, you'll be responsible for planning inventory, managing supplier orders and ensuring stock is allocated effectively across all sales channels. Using sales data and forecasts, you'll help drive business performance by keeping best sellers in stock, reducing excess inventory and supporting the success of every product launch.

An Overview of the role:

• Develop merchandise plans and inventory forecasts to ensure the right stock is available at the right time.

• Analyse sales performance, identify trends, top sellers, underperforming products and dead stock, providing recommendations to maximise sales and profitability.

• Plan inventory requirements and place purchase orders with local and international manufacturers based on sales forecasts, stock levels and business needs.

• Manage supplier relationships, production timelines and replenishment to ensure products arrive on time.

• Oversee inventory across our boutiques, online store and marketplace partner, THE ICONIC.

• Allocate stock, coordinate transfers and maintain healthy inventory levels across all channels.

• Track incoming shipments and communicate stock arrival dates to the wider team.

• Coordinate stocktakes and maintain accurate inventory records and product master data.

• Manage operational packaging and consumable supplies to support daily business operations.

• Collaborate with Design, Retail, E-commerce and Operations teams to support launches, promotions and ongoing trading.

• Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes, optimise product assortments and reduce excess or ageing inventory.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years experience in Merchandise Planning, Inventory Planning or Buying in a Retail space.

• Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel or Google Sheets experience.

• Experience forecasting inventory and managing stock levels.

• Excellent organisational and project management skills.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Confidence working with suppliers and managing purchase orders.

• A curiosity for AI and new technology, with the confidence to use tools like Claude to improve workflows, analyse information and increase productivity.

• Experience using Shopify is preferred.
