Project Manager – Commercial Painting

About the role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing commercial painting projects from handover through to completion. This is a key role within the business, suited to someone with substantial experience in the painting industry who has successfully managed large-scale commercial painting projects, site teams and multiple projects at once. You will take ownership of projects from commencement through to completion, problem-solve under pressure, manage people effectively and consistently deliver projects safely, to a high-quality standard, on programme and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Managing multiple commercial painting projects at various stages

• Planning labour and allocating resources across projects

• Managing and supporting Site Supervisors, painters and subcontractors

• Monitoring project budgets, labour hours and productivity

• Ensuring projects are delivered on programme and within budget

• Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and quality control

• Identifying issues early and implementing practical solutions

• Coordinating with builders, site managers, clients and other trades

• Managing variations and additional works

• Ensuring company safety procedures and site requirements are followed

About you

• Substantial experience within the painting industry

• Proven experience managing large-scale commercial painting projects

• Strong knowledge of commercial painting systems, preparation and finishes

• Previous experience managing large teams of painters and supervisors

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to get the best out of your team

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability

• Strong organisational and time-management skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Ability to monitor labour, productivity and project budgets

• Strong communication skills when dealing with builders, clients and site teams
