Cook / Kitchen Team Member – 38 KATSU Canberra Centre

38 KATSU is a busy Japanese comfort food restaurant located in Canberra Centre. We specialise in premium katsu, udon, soba, curry, donburi and other Japanese favourites, all prepared with a strong focus on quality, consistency and teamwork.

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Cook / Kitchen Team Member to join our growing team. This is a fast-paced environment, and we're looking for someone who can work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high food and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation and service during busy lunch and dinner periods
• Cooking and plating menu items according to company standards
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen
• Dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning duties when required
• Receiving and storing deliveries
• Assisting with stock rotation and food safety procedures
• Supporting other kitchen team members as needed
• Performing all reasonable kitchen duties as directed by management

Requirements

• Previous kitchen experience preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• High standards of cleanliness and personal presentation
• Availability to work weekdays, weekends and public holidays
• Must be physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing manual tasks
