APO has been contracted by North Queensland Export Terminal to manage operations at the Port of Abbot Point—Australia’s northernmost coal port—located 25 kilometres north of Bowen, between Townsville and Mackay, serving as the gateway to the Whitsundays.

Abbot Point Operations has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician to join our team.  We are seeking applications for a highly motivated and team-oriented Electrician to join our Maintenance team.  You will be required to complete routine preventative electrical maintenance and corrective works in accordance with the scheduled outages working on a range of heavy industrial equipment.

What You’ll Do:

• Working with SCADA Control Network, Ladder Logic Programming, Automative Control Systems, HV/LV System Apparatus, Hazards Area apparatus  

• Experience working with conveyor networks, drive assemblies, hydraulic systems stacker / reclaimers, ship loaders and vibratory feeders 

• Undertake relevant works as per standards and procedures 

• Ability to accurately interpret read and understand site drawings, procedures and instructions

• Ability to work shift roster 5/4,4/5 (Lifestyle) day/night

What We’re Looking For:

• Queensland Electrical Work Licence

• HV and HA Accreditation   

• Current 'C' class Driver's Licence

• Demonstrated experience within the maintenance industry

• Current CPR/LVR certification

• Construction White Card

• Able to work with minimal supervision.

• 5 + years’ experience in a Field Service Role or similar is desirable.

• Proven ability to perform detailed fault finding on complex control systems

• Strong attention to detail, problem solving and a high level of accuracy

• Experience using SAP is desirable

• High Risk Work Licence, (Forklift, EWP, Doggers, Riggers, Slew crane) desirable
