Civil Engineer

Hladini Construction Pty Ltd is a Brisbane-based construction company specialising in the construction of residential homes, commercial buildings, and fuel service station developments throughout Queensland. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team and support the delivery of complex construction and civil infrastructure projects.

About the Role

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing the civil engineering aspects of residential, commercial and fuel station developments from concept design through approvals and construction. The successful applicant will work closely with project managers, consultants, contractors and government authorities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in compliance with engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate civil engineering activities for residential, commercial and fuel service station construction projects.

• Coordinate civil, hydraulic, structural, traffic, geotechnical and fuel infrastructure engineering inputs from concept design through approvals and construction.

• Review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation to ensure compliance with Australian Standards, development approvals and project requirements.

• Compile and assess site information, planning constraints and development approval conditions to support project delivery.

• Review engineering designs for constructability, including site levels, drainage, crossfalls, access, pavement design and integration with fuel infrastructure.

• Liaise with local councils, SARA, the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Unitywater and other authorities to obtain approvals and resolve engineering matters.

• Coordinate engineering consultants, subcontractors and utility providers throughout project delivery.

• Support procurement and tender processes by preparing technical scopes, reviewing quotations and assessing engineering submissions.

• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction quality, progress and compliance with approved engineering designs.

• Identify and resolve engineering issues arising during construction and recommend practical solutions.

• Maintain engineering documentation, drawing registers, design revisions and project records to ensure accurate version control.

• Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety requirements, environmental regulations and company quality systems.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.

• Minimum One years' relevant experience in civil engineering or construction projects.

• Experience with commercial developments, residential subdivisions or fuel service station projects will be highly regarded.

• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, stormwater drainage, earthworks, pavements and infrastructure design.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

• Excellent communication, organisational and project coordination skills.

• Salary package of $90,000 – $110,000 plus superannuation.
