About the role

Gant and Sons Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Site Painter - Industrial Coatings to join our team on a casual basis. This is a hands-on role based in Elizabeth, SA 5112, where you will be responsible for site touch ups for our structural steel among other paint related tasks

As a Site Painter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our clients' assets are protected and maintained to the highest standards through professional surface preparation and coating application.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality

• Apply industrial coatings using various methods including brush, roller, and spray equipment

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project progress and any issues

• Follow technical specifications and coating manufacturer guidelines precisely

• Document work completed and maintain accurate records of materials used

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a painter specialising in industrial coatings or similar surface protection work

• Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques and coating application methods

• Competency in the safe use of painting equipment, including spray systems and power tools

• Understanding of health and safety standards relevant to industrial painting operations

• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces where required

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality finishes

• Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently as well as within a team

• Relevant certifications or qualifications in industrial coatings or painting trades (desirable)

• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to different job sites
