Surrounded by World Heritage-listed national parks and well renowned for its breathtaking scenery, agricultural and tourism industries, the Scenic Rim really does have everything at its doorstep.
A unique opportunity now exists to join the Infrastructure Services Directorate as Manager Transport and Assets and help drive the delivery of essential transport and infrastructure services to one of Queensland’s most scenic and diverse regions.
The Role Reporting to the Director Infrastructure Services, the Manager Transport and Assets provide strategic leadership and direction in the planning, delivery, and maintenance of Council’s transport and infrastructure assets. This role ensures that services are delivered safely, sustainably, and efficiently to meet the evolving needs of the community.
Leading a diverse department, the Manager will oversee and integrate the functions of Asset Management, Capital Works, Design and Survey, Road Corridor Management, Road Maintenance, Structures and Drainage, and Works Teams - ensuring cohesive planning, delivery and maintenance of Council’s infrastructure network.
Some key priorities will include:Oversee the delivery of capital works programs, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope and budgetDrive innovation and continuous improvement across asset management, road maintenance, and design servicesEmbed resilience and digital transformation into transport and infrastructure operationsRepresent Council in discussions and negotiations with Federal and State government agencies, other local governments, and key stakeholdersEnsure sound financial management and sustainable business practices for the long-term benefit of the communityFoster a high-performing, safety-focused culture that promotes staff wellbeing and accountability

About You As a highly regarded leader of people, you will bring significant experience in transport and infrastructure management, with a proven track record of delivering capital works programs and leading teams through periods of change and growth.
You will be a strategic thinker, comfortable working across complex, multi-disciplinary teams while maintaining a strong focus on safety, community outcomes and continuous improvement. You will bring advanced communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with elected representatives, government agencies, contractors, and the broader community.
As expected of such a role, you will also bring tertiary qualifications in engineering, business, or a related discipline.
