Medical Practice Manager

About the role

Western Family Medical Centre in Cairnlea is seeking an experienced leader to step into the role of Medical Practice Manager for a maternity leave cover period. This fixed-term contract is scheduled for approximately 14 months. This position requires operational flexibility, and the contract includes an early termination clause should the incumbent Practice Manager return from leave ahead of schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations to ensure a smooth, efficient workflow

• Lead and mentor a dedicated administrative team to foster a positive, collaborative environment

• Cultivate strong, trusting relationships with patients and doctors, ensuring everyone feels valued and supported

• Continuously evaluate and enhance operational structures and processes to drive practice efficiency

• Manage billing, budgeting, and financial reporting in close coordination with the financial team

• Stay eager to learn, seeking professional development opportunities to continuously improve the practice

About you

• Proven experience in management or leadership roles within the medical or healthcare industry

• Hands-on proficiency with MedicalDirector and HotDoc is highly regarded

• Strong understanding of the medical field, with a distinct focus on patient care and practice management

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain relationships across medical professionals and patients

• A strategic mindset with a track record of implementing and improving workflows

• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and everyday business health

• A proactive, flexible approach to work demands and continuous learning
