PRACTICE MANAGER

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and highly organised Practice Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy general practice. The successful candidate will work closely with the Practice Principal, doctors, nurses, and administration team to ensure the smooth, efficient, and compliant operation of the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the medical practice.

• Lead, supervise, recruit, and support clinical and administrative staff.

• Ensure compliance with RACGP Standards, Medicare requirements, and relevant legislation.

• Manage accreditation processes and quality improvement activities.

• Monitor practice performance, budgeting, financial reporting, and payroll.

• Oversee Medicare billing, private billing, and accounts.

• Develop and implement practice policies and procedures.

• Coordinate staff training, inductions, and performance management.

• Manage rostering, leave planning, and workforce requirements.

• Liaise with external organisations including Primary Health Networks, allied health providers, suppliers, and government agencies.

About you

• Previous experience as a Practice Manager or in a senior healthcare management role.

• Strong knowledge of general practice operations.

• Excellent understanding of Medicare, MBS billing, and private billing.

• Experience with RACGP accreditation and quality improvement.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

• Strong financial management and budgeting experience.

• Experience using Best Practice software (preferred).

• Ability to work independently while fostering a positive team culture.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
