Medical Receptionist

About the Role

Fullarton Specialists is a well-established healthcare facility committed to providing exceptional care and a positive experience for every patient.

We’re looking for a friendly, caring and organised Medical Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our patients, visitors and medical professionals, you’ll play an important role in creating a warm and welcoming experience from the moment they walk through the door.

You’ll help keep our practice running smoothly by providing excellent customer service, supporting our medical team and confidently managing a range of administrative tasks.

We’re currently looking for someone to join us 2–3 days per week.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Welcoming and checking in patients in a friendly and professional manner

• Answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments and assisting with patient enquiries

• Processing patient billing and Medicare claims

• Maintaining accurate patient records and managing appointment confirmations and follow-up reminders

• Keeping the reception area welcoming, tidy and organised

• Working closely with our team to ensure patients move smoothly through the practice

• Assisting with general administrative tasks as required
  

About You

We’re looking for someone who is friendly, reliable and genuinely enjoys helping people.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare environment (highly regarded)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and empathetic approach

• The ability to stay calm, organised and efficient in a busy environment

• Experience with medical software and electronic health record systems

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent organisational skills

• A strong understanding of confidentiality and patient privacy

• The ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team
