About the role
Reporting to the Head of Privacy, Data and Records Management Risk, the Senior Manager, Privacy Risk will lead and oversee the strategic and operational management of privacy compliance across CBUS. This role is responsible for ensuring CBUS meets its legal and regulatory obligations, protects member interests and continues to foster a culture of integrity, transparency and accountability.
This is an important role within the Group Risk team, helping embed privacy governance, privacy-by-design practices, strong risk controls and organisational awareness across CBUS. The role will partner with leaders and teams across Legal, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Data and Member Services, while also supporting regulatory engagement, reporting and assurance activities.
Key accountabilities:
Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of CBUS privacy policies, standards and proceduresDeliver the privacy strategy in alignment with CBUS strategic objectives, risk appetite and regulatory obligationsProvide subject matter expertise on privacy obligations, including the Privacy Act 1988, Notifiable Data Breaches scheme and other applicable legislationOversee Privacy Impact Assessments and provide practical advice on privacy-by-design and privacy controls throughout the project lifecyclePrepare and present reports to executive committees, the Board and regulators, while supporting audit and assurance activities
What will you bring?
Extensive experience in privacy or related functionsDeep understanding of privacy legislation and regulatory obligations, including the Privacy ActProven leadership experience in regulated environments, with strong engagement and influencing skillsExperience in managing Privacy Impact Assessment process and working with stakeholders in uplifting privacy controlsExperience managing investigations, regulatory interactions and risk programsExcellent analytical, communication and strategic thinking skills
