Medical Specialist Practice Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Specialist Practice manager to join Dr David Parker's practice in St Leonards, NSW. This is a full time position that plays a crucial role in the operational success of our specialist medical practice. As Practice Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all administrative and business operations, ensuring the practice runs efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care. You will manage staff, finances, compliance, and patient services, directly contributing to the practice's strategic objectives and reputations within the heath care sector.

Key responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the specialist medical practice.

• Supervising and co-ordinating practice staff, including recruitment, training, performance management and rostering.

• Overseeing patient scheduling, appointments and ensuring efficient patient flow through the practice.

• Managing practice finances, including accounts payable and receivable, invoicing and budgeting.

• Maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy legislation and professional standards.

• Implementing and maintaining effective systems, policies and procedures for the practice.

• Managing patient records, ensuring confidentiality and data security protocols are adhered to.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience (ideally 5+ years) working as a practice manager in a medical or healthcare setting

• Strong knowledge of medical practice management, including healthcare compliance, privacy laws and patient management systems

• Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop statt

• Sound financial management experience, including budgeting, invoicing and financial reporting

• Proficiency with practice management software and general IT skills

• Outstanding organisational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with staff, doctors and patients

• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions independently

• Knowledge of Medicare billing and health insurance matters is highly desirable

• A professional qualification in practice management, business administration or related field is advantageous

• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and a strong ethical approach to healthcare management
