Senior Finance Business Partner

Our client is a high profile NSW statutory body - they are an electrical infrastructure planner and regulator that is responsible for leading the delivery of NSW’s first five Renewable Energy Zones and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects - as a Public-Private Partnership, in collaboration with large infrastructure providers

Role Description:

Operating in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders, the Senior Finance Business Partner will drive strategic financial performance and influence key decisions through expert financial leadership

Responsibilities:

• Partner with a varied range of directors and managers to deliver financial insights and achieve budget outcomes
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting and management accounting activities
• Identify efficiency improvements, revenue opportunities and cost optimisation strategies
• Develop and monitor financial controls, governance frameworks and performance measures
• Mentor finance team members and support capability development across the organisation
• In addition to BAU, there are several active (major) projects with tight deadlines, alongside EOFY and upcoming audit requirements 

Skills and Experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications (accounting / finance) with a current CA or CPA
• Senior Finance Business Partner experience
• Some experience in financial operations in NSW government an advantage
• Excellent strategic planning and policy development skills
• Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills and experience in liaison and negotiation at all levels with a wide range of Stakeholders.
• Well developed issues management skills with the ability to apply sound judgement and work within tight deadlines in order to respond to sensitive and complex matters.
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency in using Excel (data analysis and template building) and ERP systems (such as SAP)
• Proven ability to develop business cases, enhancement proposals, business plans and briefs
• Experience in project finance, cost accounting and providing audit preparedness
• Financial reporting experience
