About the role
About Us
Complete Avionics is a full-service provider for aircraft avionics installation, maintenance, and repairs. We specialise in transforming dated cockpits into modern, custom designed panels, and our extensive repair capabilities keep aircraft flying with fast turnaround times and a strong exchange pool. We also offer a wide range of parts and are fully certified to perform calibrations.
Our mission is to enhance situational awareness by providing clearer, more comprehensive information for safer, smoother flights. We take Quality and Safety seriously and are CASA Part 145 and CAR 30 certified.
Our hangar on the Gold Coast Airport is the base of operations, and houses our corporate functions (management, quality, marketing, HR, accounting). This is where we complete many of our major project installations, as well as line maintenance services with our team of LAMEs, AMEs, apprentices and engineers.
Our Sunshine Coast workshop is dedicated to avionics and instrument testing, repairs, and calibrations. The Sunshine Coast team focuses entirely on component repair work and precision calibrations. An additional team also operates across various Sunshine Coast airports, specialising in line maintenance and avionics installations.
The Role
As our Calibration & Workshop Technician, you will be responsible for performing calibration, testing, fault diagnosis and repair activities on avionics test equipment, electronic components and aircraft-related systems in accordance with manufacturers and published tolerances, following company procedures and in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
The role contributes primarily to calibration and secondarily to workshop functions, providing flexibility and technical support to meet operational requirements while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and compliance.
Primary Duties: Calibration
Perform calibration, verification and serviceability checks of avionics test equipment in accordance with approved procedures, recognised standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain calibration records, certificates and traceability documentation.
Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and coordinate appropriate corrective actions, including adjustment, repair or removal from service.
Secondary Duties: Workshop Repair & Technical Support
Perform fault-finding, testing, repair and overhaul of avionics and electronic components, including circuit boards and associated aircraft systems.
Read and interpret technical manuals, circuit diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings and component specifications to complete maintenance activities.
Utilise specialised test equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analysers and multimeters, to diagnose and rectify faults.
Complete maintenance documentation and authorised release paperwork accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
Compliance, Quality & Documentation
Ensure all work is compliant to CASA Part 145, applicable regulatory standards and company procedures.
Maintain accurate records, reports and technical documentation to support compliance, traceability and quality assurance requirements.
Apply sound calibration principles and measurement practices to ensure accuracy, reliability and consistency of test results.
Workshop Operations & Asset Control
Maintain a clean, organised and efficient workshop environment that supports safe and effective operations.
Ensure tools, test equipment and calibration standards are controlled, calibrated, accounted for and stored correctly.
Handle precision equipment carefully to prevent damage, deterioration or measurement errors.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, maintenance personnel and other stakeholders to support operational requirements and customer outcomes.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workshop efficiency, quality standards and regulatory compliance.
Undertake other duties within the employee's skills, qualifications and training as reasonably directed by management.
Bonus Points if you have:
Previous experience in a Calibrations role
Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements
Ability to read & understand manuals and technical diagrams
Detail‑oriented and committed to safety
An interest in aviation
Please note: Due to workplace & industry safety requirements, the successful candidate must pass pre-employment alcohol and drug screening. Ongoing testing may be conducted in accordance with company policy and relevant regulations.
