Laser - CNC Machine Operator

About the role

Laser Wizard Pty Ltd is seeking a Laser - CNC Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. This is a full-time position based in St Marys NSW 2760. As a CNC Laser Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in our production operations, utilising Trumpf Co2 lasers and other machines such as our Techni Water Jet machinery to manufacture precision components. This position is fundamental to maintaining our high standards of quality, efficiency and safety whilst supporting the company's commitment to delivering exceptional products to our clients.

What you'll be doing:

• Operating Trumpf Co2 lasers and CNC machinery in accordance with engineering specifications and company safety standards

• Loading/unloading/setting up machines, configuring parameters to meet production requirements

• Accessing material racking and operation of forklifts - Forklift license required

• Monitoring machine performance during operation and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal output quality

• Inspecting finished components for defects, dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications

• Maintaining detailed records of production runs, material usage and any machine issues encountered

• Performing routine maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubrication and parts replacement as required

• Troubleshooting machine malfunctions and liaising with management personnel when technical issues arise

• Adhering to all workplace health and safety procedures and contributing to a safe working environment

• Collaborating with production supervisors and team members to meet production targets and deadlines

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience operating Trumpf Co2 lasers (or similar) CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment

• Strong knowledge of materials within sheet metal industry

• Proficiency in reading technical drawings, and engineering specifications

• Experience with precision measurement tools and quality control inspection procedures

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting

• Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality components consistently

• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with team members

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the capacity to meet production schedules

• Commitment to workplace health and safety standards and best practices

• Prior experience in laser or precision manufacturing environments is taken with high regard
