Female Support Worker

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated female Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to young individuals (adolescents) living with physical, mental, or developmental challenges to help them achieve greater independence, improve their quality of life, and participate meaningfully in their community. This position is open to female applicants only, and where applicable, a younger female applicant, due to the specific needs of our participants and the nature of the support provided. This requirement is intended to fall within the genuine occupational qualification provisions of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA), including section 27 in relation to sex and section 66ZQ where an age-specific requirement is necessary to support the welfare of participants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support clients in accessing community resources, attending appointments, and participating in social or recreational activities.
• Assist clients with daily living activities, personal hygiene (where required), dressing, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
• Provide personal care, mobility support, social engagement, and domestic assistance (where required).
• Promote independence and wellness through goal-directed care.
• Support continuous improvement and uphold NDIS Quality Standards.
• Implement individualized support or care plans in collaboration with the client and care team.
• Advocate for clients to ensure they receive appropriate services and supports.
• Monitor and document client progress, incidents, and any changes in behavior or well-being.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies or crises and follow all safety and reporting procedures.
• Work collaboratively with families, healthcare providers, social workers, and other professionals.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

• Certificates in Community Support Work, Individual Support, disabilities, Social Services, or a related field.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities, or in a similar support role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
• Clear criminal record and working with children check.
• NDIS workers screening
• NDIS worker orientation module.
• Driver’s license and access to a comprehensive insured registered vehicle.

Please note that these are fixed casual shifts and variable hours weekly. These hours are intended to change and definitely increase as clients needs emerges.
