Medical Receptionist – Part Time

Join a professional, supportive plastic surgery practice where patient care genuinely matters.

We are looking for a warm, capable and highly organised Medical Receptionist to join our specialist plastic surgery practice in Hawthorn East.

As the first person our patients speak to and see, you will play an important role in their experience with our practice. Many of our patients are navigating significant and sometimes personal decisions, so we are looking for someone who combines professionalism and efficiency with warmth, discretion and genuine care.

This is a part-time role suited to an experienced receptionist who enjoys being part of a professional, collaborative team and takes pride in creating an exceptional experience for patients.

What you'll be doing

You will be an integral part of the day-to-day running of the practice, working closely with our clinical and administrative team.

• Welcoming patients and creating a warm, professional first impression

• Managing telephone and patient enquiries with care and discretion

• Scheduling and confirming appointments

• Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation

• Processing payments, invoicing and associated administration

• Managing correspondence and administrative documentation

• Liaising closely with clinical staff to support a smooth patient journey

• Maintaining a professional and welcoming reception environment

• Providing general administrative support to the practice

What we're looking for

We would love to hear from you if you are someone who is organised, personable and dependable, and who enjoys helping both patients and colleagues.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Previous medical reception or healthcare administration experience

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A warm and professional telephone manner

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Confidence using computer and practice management systems

• An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and patient privacy

• The ability to remain calm, organised and professional in a busy environment

• A flexible, team-focused approach

Experience with GENIE practice management software and medical terminology would be highly regarded, but is not essential for the right person.
